When the ancient demon Lord Bubu was unleashed to rain destruction on the Earth, he needed a take a mortal form by possessing the body of a living creature. And what better form than that of an innocent kitten named Ubu? Once united, Ubu and Bubu become a terrifying hell-cat devoted to death, destruction and the annihilation of the human race. Ubu's owners Henry and Sissy, know what's going on, and they're having a hard time convincing the rest of the world that their adorable pet is actually a force of pure evil. Well, except for Japan. The Japanese have figured it out, but Japanese school girls and cosplayers love Ubu Bubu as a super-cute idol of death.

Henry and Sissy struggle to stop the apocalypse and control violent allergies in Ubu Bubu, a new four-issue comic book miniseries by British cartoonist Jamie Smart, who made a name for himself with his clever, profane and frenetic debut comic Bear. Smart's fans will recognize the signature bug eyes, gleeful cursing and ample head trauma, but will be pleased to note that included in Ubu Bubu is 54% more cuteness, as illustrated by the drawing of "the little kitty washing his little knackers" at right. Says Smart of his creation, "It's stupidly cute and horrifically mean."
Ubu Bubu debuts in February and will run for four issues to be released quarterly. The first issue is available for pre-order now from comic book stores with the Diamond code DEC073336.
