You already knew that Cory Doctorow at BoingBoing thinks that Skelebunnies by Tommy Kovac is "Juvenile, scatological, offensive, and very, very funny," but did you ever ask yourself, "What would the respectable denizens of National Public Radio think of Skelebunnies?"
And now you know: "It's tasteless, puerile, and beneath contempt." In a good way!
Glenn Weldon at NPR's blog Monkey See, in a post titled "Like Beatrix Potter, If Beatrix Potter Made More Jokes About Vomit. And Satan," tells you that what you really need to know about Tommy Kovac's infernal creation is "1. It's funny. 2. 2. It's endlessly quotable." Weldon gives you a list of some of the most quotable moments of Skelebunnies, all of which I agree with, but one of my favorite quotes comes from Skelebunnies' secondary but no less compelling story of Satan's discovery and embracing of his sexuality: "Gay is the new straight!"
