| "The Spookiest Lil' Town in America' is what they call it. I call it "prison zoo." But before you accuse me of undue "grumpiness," remember that i, serenity rose (local witch, amateur painter, and noted recluse), have pretty solid reasons to feel this way. I mean, yeah, i can fly thru the air, smash things with my brain, bend goblins to my will (not really) and conjure enormous green ponies from ectoplasm, but there's a downside to all that wicked awesome stuff: a full-on AVALANCHE of greasy politicians, big media parasites, snaky Nu-Metal Monster promoters, drugged-up "vampires," gawking tourists and hi-GOTH wannabes all out to bury me alive. You just TRY being a proper hermit with that kind of attention.... Or, better yet, try living vicariously through me and the five days of my life chronicled here in this book. |
